This is probably one of the biggest influencing factors.  There are massive differences between the cost of veneers between countries or even different parts of a country.  It may typically be more expensive in large metropolitan areas than in smaller towns.

Fees of the Cosmetic Dentist

Dental specialist and very popular, well known dentists will tend to be a lot more expensive than your average family practitioner.  It doesn’t mean that you will not be able to get great treatment from a less expensive dental practitioner, but it is worthwhile to do a bit of research before choosing your dentist.

Dental Laboratory Cost

It is important to get a ceramist with very good artistic and technical skills to make the veneers.  Unfortunately this will also influence the veneer cost significantly.

Number of Teeth Requiring Veneers

It goes without saying that the cost will increase if you get more veneers done.

Material used

As Cosmetic Dentistry Advisor mentioned before, composite veneers will be less expensive than ceramic veneers.  There are also different types of ceramic veneers: Pressed ceramic, stacked ceramic and lithium disilicate. There are few trusted veneer manufacturers including: IPS e.max, IPS Empress and da VinciTM.  Your product choice will certainly have an effect on the cost.

Dental Insurance

Dental insurance typically do not pay for cosmetic dentistry procedures.  Depending on your insurance and your specific dental situation, it may be possible to persuade them to pay for the treatment.  Especially if it can be shown that the veneers are placed out of need and have a restorative purpose rather than purely a cosmetic purpose.

Additional Costs

The dental examination, radiographs and study models will all be charged additionally.  They may also charge for infection control, sterilization, local anesthetic, cleaning of your teeth, laboratory delivery and temporary veneers (if required).  Make sure that your dentist includes all the additional fees when providing a quote for your treatment.
